One of the region's highlights is the Nägelsförsterhof winery, which has been in operation since 1588. Varnhalt shares a unique and fascinating tradition with Steinbach and Neuweier: since the 18th century, these villages have had the rare privilege of bottling their wine in Bocksbeutel, a type of flattened round wine bottle. This right, granted by the Bishop of Würzburg, makes the region truly special, as it is one of the few places in Germany outside of Franconia permitted to use this bottle shape. With special EU trademark protection since 1989, the Bocksbeutel emphasises the exclusive character and high quality of the wine.
